Samantha Richter, COO of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation (AHLF) tells you about her and the Foundation's journey in rearing monarch butterflies. Fun facts are instilled within the listening, and suggestions on how everyone can help save this species.

Monarch butterflies are one of the most recognizable and well-studied butterflies on the planet, yet they are diminishing due to loss of habitat. The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation successfully hatched multiple monarch butterflies by planting milkweed (their only food source for the caterpillars) and controlling their surroundings, resulting in a summer full of caterpillars, chrysalises and butterflies.
